Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get our edited pictures back?
Weddings take approximately 4 weeks and portrait sessions take approximately 2 weeks. Rush orders for faster turnaround can be requested at an additional charge. Please contact us for more information.
Do we get high resolution jpeg's?
Yes, absolutely. High resolution or original resolution jpeg's are images that are safe to print with no loss in print quality. We recommend resizing to 300ppi when given the option. We even offer web resolution images as well so you can post them on your social media outlets. Interestingly, if you try to post full resolution images, they generally do not come out as well because sites like Facebook apply compression to these photos to resize them to their specifications which results in a less than optimal image.
Do we need a print release to print our photos?
Not necessarily as some labs do not require it, but we would be glad to provide this for you at no additional charge.
How do I get my images delivered to me?
We utilize a gorgeous online gallery which will be emailed directly to you once the photos are edited. From this online gallery you have the ability to view, download, print, and share any of your photos. All our galleries are password protected for your security.
How long do my pictures remain on the online gallery?
Due to limited storage space, we can only keep your galleries uploaded for up to 3 months. This should offer you ample amount of time to download your images to your computer or external drives.
Can I purchase images or photo products directly through you?
Yes, you can simply purchase any photo(s) in most sizes directly from our online gallery. How simple is that? Just add the desired photo(s) or product(s) to your cart and our professional lab will process and send the photo(s) and product(s) directly to the address of your choice. Please allow for 5-7 business days once the order has been submitted.
Do you make albums?
Yes, and we love them! We customize these gorgeous albums from start to finish. There are a variety of options from cover type to paper quality. Please contact us for a pricing sheet.
Do you charge sales tax on your wedding packages?
We do charge CA sales tax on wedding packages that have products or taxable items such as prints, albums, and photo products. This is required by the IRS and we do need to comply. We do offer a digital package with no physical products that is free of sales tax. Please note that tax regulations are subject to change and we will do our best to keep you informed.
When I receive the photos are they considered to be mine where I can alter them to my liking?
All of the photos are copyrighted and are under the sole ownership of James Korin Photography. This means that under no circumstances can any of our photos be altered or reproduced without the express written consent of James Korin Photography. We take great pride in our work and the last thing we would want to see is for it to be altered and not a true representation of our work.
Do I need a photography permit?
This is a great question which most people do not ask. Most locations do require a photography permit, especially at the nicer areas such as beaches, county parks, private parks, arboretums, and certain landmarks. The prices vary on these permits and they can range from $65 - $500+ and they are not covered by your photographer. We do carry some special permits which allow us access to some great county parks in Orange County which is free of charge to you. Please ask us for a list of these locations. Otherwise, we do need advance notification and a deposit for the locations that require a permit. And yes, almost always does a law enforcement agent ask us for a permit when shooting at these locations. The last thing we would want to do is cut your photo shoot short because of a lack of planning and awareness on our part.
Do you carry liability insurance?
Yes, we absolutely carry liability insurance up to $1M should any of your wedding venues require proof. We would be more than glad to provide that for them.
What type of camera gear do you use?
As for now, we are currently using professional grade Canon equipment, including a whole array of professional L-series lenses. I don't want to bore you with a list of them, but please feel free to contact me for more information. If there are any special needs outside of my current gear list, we have the ability to rent what we need.
Do you provide Videography services?
We work with a several talented videography partners and would be happy to put you in contact with them for your video needs.
Do you use second shooters?
Yes, we work with several different talented second shooters depending on the needs of the client.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, MC/Visa, Discover, Personal Check, and Cash (in person only).
What is the deposit for?
The deposit for weddings and events guarantees that we do not book anyone else on the specific date you have requested. Currently, we require 1/3 of the total price in order to book your special day. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. The remaining 2/3 of the balance will be due 30 days prior to your event. We recommend leaving a deposit as soon as possible as popular weekends book up quickly.
When is the final payment due?
The final payment is due 30 days prior to your wedding day.
Can I make payments in installments?
Yes, once the initial deposit is made you can make payments toward your balance, but the entire balance is still due 30 days prior to your wedding date. We can also provide an invoice for your records.
